Did you know…

Cannabis is mostly used as a recreational or medicinal drug. It may also be used for religious or spiritual purposes. In 2013, between 128 and 232 million people used cannabis (2.7% to 4.9% of the global population between the ages of 15 and 65). In 2015, 43% of Americans had used cannabis which increased to 51% in 2016. About 12% have used it in the past year, and 7.3% have used it in the past month. This makes it the most commonly used illegal drug both in the world.

Cannabis as Currency

The use of cannabis as a de facto currency predates the founding of the United States and may be found in the historical record in the early 17th century. With such massive shifts happening in the cannabis market, perhaps even a long-honored tradition like cannabis for currency could be regulated out of existence.

Rick Steves on Cannabis Legalization and the Two Americas

America's divide on marijuana. Cannabis Legalization is now front and center. Rick Steves (below): television host and hemp activists. This interview with Rick Steves was conducted by David Downs and originally appeared on Smell the Truth. Best-selling travel author and television personality Rick Steves is something of a sleeper agent for marijuana legalization. The host of American Public Radio’s Rick Steves’ Europe is among the most mainstream advocates for cannabis law reform. Steves co-sponsored New Approach Washington’s 2012 initiative to legalize, tax and regulate marijuana in Washington State, and toured Oregon in 2014 speaking in favor of that state’s winning tax and regulate campaign. This February, he discusses the strategies that are legalizing marijuana in the U.S. — as part of his first-ever appearance at the International Cannabis Business Conference in San Francisco. In part one of our interview, Steves minced no words — calling out cannabis capitalists for tarnishing what’s really a civil rights movement. Steves warned that California could fail to legalize pot with too liberal an initiative in 2016. In this segment, he talks a bit more about what traveling has taught him about the issue, saying essentially we live in two different Americas. StT: Traveling around the [...]

Asset forfeiture – Words of Wisdom from the Time 4 Hemp Broadcasting Network

In a moments notice, everything you own can be gone! This happens when a police officer charges your property with a crime. Asset forfeiture is what funds the War On Drugs. Officer Ted Nelson has undergone a slight change in his career. The police officer formerly in charge of training Michigan's law enforcement on civil asset forfeiture in the 1980s, Ted is now a member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP), a non-profit group of former police officers and judges who oppose the drug war. Ted agreed to speak to me on behalf of himself; his opinions do not necessarily represent those of LEAP. TLO: Ted, you were in charge of training Michigan's law enforcement about how to use civil asset forfeiture back in the 1980s. Would you mind telling me a bit about that? I was on a narcotics enforcement team at the time and was very interested in asset forfeiture and became the instructor for all the state police in Michigan to learn about it. At the time, I thought it was a great tool for law enforcement in the war on drugs. It was a way to go after assets obtained illegally by the sale of illegal drugs, and it seemed [...]

Time 4 Hemp Exposes Fake News

We Offer Truth In Broadcasting By Exposing Government Lies! A recent editorial cartoon about FAKE NEWS. The Time 4 Hemp Broadcasting Network is a digital media outlet that shares factual information which is difficult to locate elsewhere. This broadcasting network is dedicated to exposing the lies embedded in FAKE NEWS created and released as FACT by the United States government about cannabis hemp. Make it a point to visit our archives often and share them with your friends. Since the 1930’s, the United States government has actively hidden factual information about cannabis hemp and replaced it with propaganda promoting an agenda formulated by the fossil fuel industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and the paper industry along with many government leaders. One example of this is the film ‘Hemp for Victory’. This 14-min black and white short  was produced by the United States Department of Agriculture during World War II and released in 1942. It explains the many uses of hemp and encourages farmers to grow as much as possible. Before 1989, the film was relatively unknown. The United States government denied ever having made such a film. The United States Department of Agriculture library and the Library of Congress told all interested [...]

Time 4 Hemp Gift Shop Is Now Open

PLEASE visit and do some shopping. When you do, you help the network grow! The Time 4 Hemp Gift Shop offers this mouse-pad. Take Time 4 Hemp! I'm not sure how many of you recall the time, a few years back, when President Bush asked Americans to "go shopping so as to help the national economy to remain strong and to keep our country safe and independent." Many of us laughed at the idea of "saving the country by going shopping".  I'm sure a Google search will bring up many of the late night jokes that were made. Well, now that the Time 4 Hemp Gift Shop has opened, I understand what the President was trying to get across in his message. Over the 25 years I've been broadcasting, people have encouraged me to place my logos and other art pieces that I own onto hats and t-shirts and buttons. I've never done so due to the headaches involved from order fulfillment and shipping errors that occur in any retail outlet. Besides, Time 4 Hemp is a broadcasting network. That's what we are focused on and what we MUST REMAIN focused on. What I've done is opened a little shop [...]
